Events

Jonny and Pennie  have a wealth of experience curating, organising and running a range of distinctly different events, all designed and delivered in their own unique way;, and always developed specifically for the brand, client or cause.

PechaKucha Sheffield

Jonny and Pennie CoCurate PechaKucha for Sheffield; a global, viral phenomenon running in nearly 1200 cities across the world.

Four times a year PechaKucha Sheffield showcase the well-known and as yet unknown talent from across the region; bringing together the Creative, Digital and Business communities for a evening that entertains, educates and inspires.

The events are based around the PechaKucha '20x20 format', whereby each presenter has 20 slides, set to auto advance every 20 seconds to present their subject or showcase their work.

‘The Sheffield Way’ they have developed over the last 9 years differs from a traditional PK Night; curated around a theme and incorporating Live Music, Entertainment and Short Videos…making for an evening of fast-paced, engaging talks that give the audience an experience like no other!

Since April 2010 they have put on 30 events at 26 different venues across Sheffield, showcasing over 270 speakers to a regular audience of 120-150…and the really great bit...the whole team give their time and expertise for free! Every show is delivered on goodwill and through in-kind sponsorship of venues, equipment and resources!7

So what is @PKNSheff?

It's like clubbing for thinkers...
…inspiration for the creative class…
...a business social that's more a night out...
...it'll get your heart skipping and your mind racing!

Sheffield SOUP

Founded by Pennie Raven, Pennie and Jonny deliver Sheffield SOUP: a live, social crowd-funding event, providing no strings micro grants for Sheffield people’s ideas.

At each SOUP there are 4 shortlisted x 4 minute pitches from local people, followed by up to 4 questions from the crowd. Each audience member donates (a minimum) £5 entry fee for which they get a vote, soup, bread and an evening’s entertainment…and the winning pitch takes 100% of the door money at the end of the night.

Over the last two years 11 projects have won over £5,000 of funding and over 50 projects have been supported by Pennie and Jonny with training and through social media, and by our amazing audience in all sorts of ways.
